Chiropractic Care for Auto Injuries
We treat auto accident injuries with great care and attention to detail. The vast majority of
these injuries are not life threatening nor do they involve broken bones. These few serious cases go to
trauma centers.
Most involve sprains and strains of the soft tissues-muscles, tendons
and ligaments. Chiropractors are experts at diagnosing and treating soft tissue injuries.

Delay of Proper Treatment
Unfortunately, most car accident victims end up at their local hospital emergency room, where,
after a superficial exam and maybe an x-ray, they are sent home with drugs for pain and inflammation. They
are told that they can expect to be sore for “a few days”, but to follow up with their M.D. After visiting
their doctor once or twice, and still hurting, they are often referred to a “specialist”, an orthopedist or
neurologist. This results in no other treatment or relief, but merely a new, more powerful drug
regimen. Often, the person is given a 3-4 week trial of physical
therapy, which rarely addresses the underlying injured tissues. After this typical “medical-run-a-round”
scenario, which may last for weeks or months, the patient is often very discouraged and depressed about any
hope of ever feeling well again.
It is at this point, when a loved one or friend refers this person to their own
Chiropractor.
Our Treatment and Care
After a detailed review of the accident, including all medical records, x-rays, CT scans or
MRIs, we perform a thorough orthopedic and neurological examination of the patient, including postural and
soft tissue components. Once completed, a course of therapy is begun. This may include chiropractic adjustments, electrical muscle stimulation, hydrotherapy,
nutritional supplementation and home stretching and icing to promote tissue repair. Once treatment has
commenced, the majority of our auto accident patients return to full function and well-being.
Protecting Your Legal Rights
Our first priority is providing excellent care to our patients. Equally important to this is to
document their injuries, and subsequent progress, for insurance adjustors, attorneys and other third party
payers. Because many of these cases have medical and legal implications, we go to great pains to meticulously
document the history, daily notes and progress, using our Write Pad Computerized note system. This software
program insures a seamless documentation of injury, diagnosis, treatment and progress to provide attorneys
and reviewers clean and cogent evidence based treatment rationale. As a result, the vast majority of our
personal injury cases settle without lengthy legal challenges.
